  3. This is the 1.0.1 version of XtraNet.   This is a demo release which does not include the example files or documentation.  They will be completed and released shortly.  You can obtain the updated archive for XtraNet from the same website or FTP location you downloaded this copy from.

  5. XtraNet is available now for purchase for a one-time, per development station fee of $399.  There are NO runtime royalties when you have purchased a copy of XtraNet!  The retail product comes on a CD-ROM full of Director and Shockwave examples along with complete documentation and more.

  20. How To Install XtraNet with Director

  22. When Director launches, it automatically locates Xtras by looking in two special places:
  23.  
  24. Macintosh
  25. Location #1:    The Xtras folder which is in the same location as your Director application.
  26. Location #2:    The Macromedia:Xtras folder contained in your System folder.
  27.  
  28. Windows
  29. Location #1:    The Xtras subdirectory which is in the same location as your Director application.
  30. Location #2:    The Windows\Macromed\Xtras subdirectory on Windows 3.1  -OR- The Program Files\Common Files\Macromedia\Xtras subdirectory on Windows 95 or Windows NT

  33. Copy the XtraNet™ file to your Xtras folder.  Copy the About XtraNet™ file to your Director Help folder.

  36. Copy the XTRANET.X16 or XTRANET.X32 file to your Xtras folder.  Copy the XTRANET.DXR file to your Director folder.

  39. How To Install XtraNet with Shockwave

  41. When a Shockwave for Director plug-in launches, it automatically locates Xtras by looking in a special “support” folder.  This folder must be located in one of the following places:

  43. Macintosh (All browsers)
  44. 68K:        The NP-68K-Dir-Shockwave Folder folder contained in your browser’s “plug-in” folder.
  45. PowerPC:    The NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave Folder folder contained in your browser’s “plug-in” folder.

  47. Windows (Netscape Navigator and compatible browsers)
  48. 3.1:        The NP16DSW directory contained in your browser’s “plug-in” directory.
  49. 95/NT:        The NP32DSW directory contained in your browser’s “plug-in” directory.
